Stay and Play
Plenty of shopping and dining opportunities plus the Lake Walk make Lake Lorraine a destination for visitors and Sioux Falls residents alike. Soon, people will be able to stay at the development. Two hotels have committed to building at the lake, bringing their national brands to South Dakota. Construction is underway now, with an expected opening of early 2020.
Construction has started on the Hyatt Place hotel on the north side of Lake Lorraine. The estimated $7.5 million, 112-room hotel is the second hotel to submit plans at Lake Lorraine.
Hyatt Place is a brand of Hyatt Hotels Corp. It’s marketed as a modern hotel with amenities including a free hot breakfast; a 24/7 Gallery marketplace and lounge with grab-and-go items, bar appetizers, beer and wine; a 24/7 business center; and suites with sectional sofas and contemporary bathrooms.
The four-story Aloft Hotel will be located on the southeast side of the Lake Lorraine development, adjacent to I-29 and will be a defining feature in the next phase of Lake Lorraine’s development. The hotel will have 107 king and double-queen rooms, sleek design, generously size fitness area, indoor pool, and lounge area with a pool table.
The property will be developed and managed by KAJ Hospitality. This will be the first Aloft property in South Dakota.
