Now is the perfect time to join Anytime Fitness

Anytime Fitness at Lake Lorraine is ready for the “resolutions rush” — and is offering a great incentive in the first part of 2019 to become a member! From Jan. 1-11, you can join for just $1.

The fitness facility was the second tenant to open at Lake Lorraine, with the view of Lake Lorraine just one of the incentives of belonging to the worldwide gym. In addition, new members get to meet with a trainer and have a 30-day customized plan created for them.

“They won’t be stuck on a treadmill with no one to help them,” said manager Meagan Donovan.

A trainer is onsite two-three days a week to answer questions, provide consultations and serve personal clients. Free classes are included in membership, including Pilates and HIIT (high intensity interval training), and yoga is offered for $5 per class. There is a Silver Club for those older than 65, which includes more than 100 people at the Lake Lorraine location.

All instructors are certified and each class is taught from a beginner level, so you don’t need previous knowledge to join in, Donovan said. Group fitness is a great way to stay in shape and is a full-body workout. The Studio Room is home to the classes.

One of the benefits of an Anytime Fitness membership is the ability to use any facility. There are four Anytime Fitness locations in Sioux Falls and Brandon, with more than 4,400 locations worldwide. Donovan said the Lake Lorraine location sees several travelers each day. The gym is very community-oriented, too, she said with about half of current members living in the western side of Sioux Falls and the other half working in the area. The easy access from Interstate 29 and Marion Road makes the location convenient even if you don’t necessarily live or work in the area.

Members can access the facility from the Marion Road entrance or the back door, which faces Lake Lorraine. There’s been talk of starting a running club in the spring, utilizing the Lake Walk around Lake Lorraine.

The gym includes a full suite of free weights, dumbbells, barbells, kettle bells, TRX, slam balls, boxing bags, a deadlift platform, and over 20 pieces of cardio equipment. There’s also fully guided strength equipment, meaning people can use the machines and follow the directions.

There are several corporate partnerships that also provide discounts for their employees. Military members, students and first responders all receive a 10 percent discount. Looking for other ways to save? Contact your insurance provider to see if they offer any reimbursement or benefits for having a fitness membership.

Because the gym has 24-hour access, the building is secured and the area is patrolled in the evening and is well-lit. Donovan staffs the center Monday-Friday.

“We’re excited to be a part of this development from the beginning,” Donovan said of the Lake Lorraine location.
